Monitoring behaves like a real listener. Guardian acquires the microphone correctly when monitoring is armed, and recovers the audio stream automatically when you return to the app after your phone has been in the background.
Guardian keeps the screen awake while monitoring is active, so detection keeps running for as long as your device allows.
Emergency SOS is separate. Quiet hours, disabled triggers and any Find My Phone setting never affect emergency SOS — emergency activation and escalation remain available at all times.

When Guardian SOS is activated, a secure emergency incident record is created without interrupting the existing alert process.
The incident records the activation time, emergency status and available last-known location. A secure, read-only incident link can assist authorised emergency contacts or responders during an active emergency.
Access automatically expires when the emergency is resolved.
Guardian does not access or control CCTV systems. Incident information may assist authorised responders in identifying relevant locations and time periods.

Your live position is shared as it is captured. If there is no live fix, Guardian shares the last position it genuinely held and says that is what it is.
Your trusted Circle is alerted
The people you have chosen are notified with your situation and location, so someone who cares about you knows something is wrong.
Email and message alerts, where configured
Your Circle can be reached by email, and by text message once a messaging provider is configured for your account.
Guardian opens your device’s dialer with the right emergency number ready — you complete the call. Guardian does not place an unattended emergency call on iOS, Android or the web.
Safe wherever you are
Guardian does not assume one country. It works out where you are and shows the emergency number that actually applies there.

Guardian works out which country you are in and shows that country’s emergency number — 000 in Australia, 999 in the United Kingdom, 911 in the United States, 112 across Europe.
Never a guessed number
Your country comes from your location and a fixed, auditable table of national emergency numbers. Guardian does not use AI to invent an emergency number.
And if it cannot be sure
Rather than assume one country, Guardian says plainly that it could not confirm your jurisdiction and offers the international fallback, so you always know where you stand.

Know Who Matters
Guardian can recognise names from your own Guardian Circle. Ask about an existing Circle member and Guardian can open the existing Circle map, focus on that person and present their existing safety status and last-seen information.
Voice Activated By You
Guardian listens only when Voice Mode is activated. Voice commands are processed transiently and are not stored as recordings or transcripts.
Guardian interprets specific spoken safety phrases and routes them through existing Guardian actions. It does not provide unrestricted AI conversation. Emergency activation always requires Guardian’s deliberate confirmation.

How do I add someone to my Guardian Circle?
Your Guardian Circle is the trusted people you choose — family, a partner, close friends. They receive your alert and location when you raise an SOS or a check-in is missed. You can add or remove anyone at any time, and only the people you choose ever see anything.
Who can see my location?
Only the contacts you add to your Guardian Circle can see your location, and only while a share, journey, check-in or emergency is active. Guardian never shares your location publicly and never sells your data. You control the list completely — you can remove anyone at any time.
